Quarry Site and Technical Specifications
Bilecik Vezirhan Breccia, found in the Taşkesen area of Vezirhan district in Bilecik province, has been quarried since the Roman period. Classified as ‘Tectonic Breccia,’ it is composed of angular grains of beige and pink limestones, with individual grains within the breccia ranging in color from orange to salmon pink or brown. Its natural cement binder is mostly red due to its hematite (iron) content.
